Metro Metaverse Design Art – ART-IN 24 (Metaverse Exhibition)

Art went underground as well as virtual during the first ‘Metro Metaverse Design Art’ (MMDA) exhibition held in Shanghai in late 2022. The immersive exhibition consisted of both a unique physical show hosted in the city’s metro and a digital twin in the metaverse. The project aimed to increase opportunities for artists and designers to connect with brands and integrate art into everyday urban life. 

Dubbed ‘ART-IN 24’, the virtual exhibition was held on the YAOLAND metaverse platform developed by Pico. Visitors needed only to log in to the ‘ART-IN 24’ island to experience the artworks as if they were physically present.

China Mobile Global Partners Conference 2022

‘Focusing on Integration and Innovation, Writing a Smart Future Together’ was the 10th anniversary theme of the China Mobile Global Partners Conference 2022. A showcase of the telecoms brand’s digital innovations achievements over the past decade, the two-day event marked the first time the Conference was held in real time on a virtual platform supported by cloud technology.  

Pico was appointed to deliver the metaverse services that would be the Conference’s backbone. The team divided the event into five major modules, created a Metaverse Innovation Pavilion, and used technologies such as 5G, Ultra HD and VR to create an immersive experience for all participants.

CM Financial Technology Metaverse

CM Financial Technology (CMFT), a subsidiary of China Mobile, is committed to expanding its business while demonstrating its innovative capabilities. To this end, the brand entrusted Pico and its YAOLAND services to create an impressive CMFT metaverse for a December 2022 debut.

The metaverse features a main island and multiple sub-islands. Using digital twin technology, the project team also generated CMFT’s first AI employee, ‘Jin Beibei’, to provide visitors with voiceover guided tours and other useful information about the brand’s business advantages. Visitors can even interact with Beibei, giving the experience an engaging – and entertaining – edge. The platform also supports login from both mobile devices and computers, opening it up to a very wide range of visitors.

Chengdu Motor Show 2023

Marques from around the world once again drove into China for the latest edition of the annual Chengdu Motor Show from 25 August to 3 September 2023. For visitors it was a chance to get into gear with the latest industry’s debuts and splashy new technologies and features.

Pico was also there, having been appointed to activate the presences of more than 25 marques – namely ARCFOX, Audi, AVATR, Buick, BYD, Cadillac, Chery, Denza, Dongfeng Citroen, Dongfeng Peugeot, Geely, Great Wall Motor, Jaguar Land Rover, JETOUR, Lexus, Li Auto, Lynk & Co, Mercedes-Benz, ORA, Oshan, Polestar, Rising Auto, SAIC Maxus, smart and XPeng.

Infineon Virtual Exhibition Hall

A fascinating new addition to the YAOLAND metaverse in 2022 was Infineon’s virtual exhibition hall, Giving a new impetus to digital intelligence. Infineon's online virtual showroom builds a visual creative worldview around the underlying logical proposition of the life of the city, and shows users the application scenarios of digital intelligence through three major sections (Future Mobility, Internet of Everything, and Green Energy).

Within the hall, visitors can explore futuristic urban settings, modes of transport and energy generation, and even get a preview of smart furniture in an Internet of Things home. Hotspots located throughout can be clicked for access to more tech application scenarios as well as product information.

The Land of Warriors Carnival ‘Soul Awakening’

With the end of the first series of The Land of Warriors, The Land of Warriors Carnival ‘Soul Awakening’ drew fun-loving crowds in Chengdu from 19 May to 6 October 2023. Occupying an area of 5,000 sq. m, the event featured seven themed zones, 20 photo spots, and activities such as immersive interactive entertainment experiences, AI interactions, new media performances, art exhibitions, themed concerts and speciality food markets. Another major attraction was a 360-degree immersive world featuring highly restored scenes from The Land of Warriors. Pico was commissioned to provide a full range of services for the Carnival, from design and construction to operation.

Honeywell Metaverse Innovation Summit

Honeywell Metaverse Innovation Summit

Held over three days in 2022 on the YAOLAND metaverse platform, Honeywell’s metaverse innovation summit focused on core themes of innovation, technology and ecosystem while hosting the launch of eight new products and solutions. The event demonstrated the brand’s digital innovation capabilities as well as its cooperation with industry partners in China’s digitalisation. PIXELS, member of the Pico Group, was appointed to provide metaverse services.

At the summit, visitors could create their own digital avatars to send texts and perform a range of expressions, movements and gestures as they interacted and explored. Highlights of the event included its six digital display boards and activities such as making posters, earning points through daily check-ins, sharing invitations with friends and more, to redeem prizes and enter into lucky draws.

‘Viewing Wonderful China from Google Arts and Culture’ Art Interactive Experience

Google Arts & Culture has been collaborating with Chinese cultural institutions to make culture and art more accessible. For this year’s International Museum Day on 18 May and China Tourism Day on 19 May, in addition to participating in the Zhenhai Tower Cultural and Creative Night and Guangzhou International Travel Fair, they featured five artworks on a ‘Viewing Wonderful China from Google Arts and Culture’ WeChat mini-program as well as an offline exhibition in partnership with Guangzhou Museum. Pico was entrusted to provide services for this new interactive art experience, including booth design and construction, visual and content production and on-site operation for the offline exhibition.

Maserati Aftersales Dealer Convention

The Maserati Aftersales Dealer Convention was held in February 2023 at the Sheraton Xishuangbanna Hotel in Yunnan, uniting the Italian brand’s aftersales dealers from all over China. The convention highlighted Maserati’s prowess in innovation and sustainability whilst fostering closer relationships among dealers. The marque enlisted Pico to deliver comprehensive services for the event, from project planning to execution. Embracing the theme of Spring and Rain, the team designed and developed a photo zone, main conference stage and memorable gala dinner for the occasion.

‘Embrace inspiration, Polestar 4 Me’ exhibition

With the ‘Embrace inspiration, Polestar 4 Me’ exhibition, Sweden’s EV marque Polestar drove its fans in Shanghai out of this world and across the cosmos. Held from 15 June to 15 July 2023, the exhibition engaged visitors in an immersive deep dive into the brand and its latest distinctively styled models. The brand also collaborated with artists to create an entertaining projection effect inside the venue. Pico was appointed to provide activation services for the project, including build and operation.
